GED® student’s Graduation Ceremony at The International School of Aruba

Tuesday, June 5th the first GED® graduates have received their certification for completing the ‘General Educational Development’ (GED program at The International School of Aruba. With 3200 official GED® testing centers in the United States and Canada, ISA is proud to be the front-runner in introducing this education system into the Caribbean together with the Ministry of Education.

Since 2017 adults from the age of 17, living in Aruba, have been able to register for the GED® program. The GED® offers those interested in continuing their education a chance to earn a high school equivalent credential, that would allow them to enroll in junior colleges in the US and some Canadian programs. The certification will also enhance options for employment if staying in Aruba. Through continued education, these adults can pursue career options that will benefit not only themselves but also benefit Aruba's economy. Thousands of traditional campus-based colleges and universities accept the GED® as equivalent to a high school diploma.

The first graduation ceremony took place Tuesday, June 5th at the International School of Aruba. An important milestone for all students, the GED® community and the Ministry of Education.
